Students were joined by their families and West Craven staff to celebrate the end of five years’ hard work. Those celebrating included Zakariya Ahmed who is progressing to Nelson and Colne College to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. He then plans to progress to university to study Medicine. He will be joined at Nelson and Colne College by Jacob Reed who will be studying A Levels in Geography, History and English Language. He plans to pursue a career as a teacher.

Robert Thorner and Izobel Anderson plan to become engineers with Robert progressing to an Engineering Apprenticeship and Izobel studying A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Art and Geology.

Science based careers await Maisey Livesey and Bella McCredie who are progressing to A Levels at Burnley College. They will be joined studying A Levels by Faye Culkin who plans to become a teacher.

Miley Potts and Nixie Griffiths are set to pursue careers in the film industry after successfully completing BTEC qualifications in Special Effects Make Up and Media respectively.

West Craven Principal John Bates said: “We are incredibly proud that the Clas of 2026 have been rewarded for the hard work and determination they have shown throughout their time at West Craven. They have demonstrated remarkable resilience and ambition, consistently striving to achieve their goals. Today’s results is the culmination of all they have worked towards in school and it was lovely to celebrate with so many students, who got the results they needed.

We wish them every success as they take the next steps in their educational and career journeys. It has been a pleasure hearing about their aspirations across such a diverse range of industries, and I look forward to catching up with them again when they return for our Star Awards in the autumn term.”
