The school received a sum of £12,500 specifically for Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch Up for the Academic Year 2015-2016. A programme of intervention was put in place for 21 Year 7 students that achieved below a Level 4 in their Key Stage 2 SATs scores in English Reading and / or Mathematics.

The money was spent in the following was to enable those students to ‘catch up’ with their peers during their first year at secondary school:
88% of the students reached functional reading and 88% reached functional numeracy age by the end of Year 7.
Where progress has not been made, support continues in subsequent year groups.
